When you talk about Country Music in the Pacific Northwest, you have to include Gerry Andal & the Roughriders. This exciting and refreshing band has played pretty well everywhere country music can be played around here for the past few decades, always keeping dance floors full and toes tapping to their entertaining performances. Their program has always included an uncanny mix of current and classic country tunes and a taste of old time rock & roll.
For the ten years from 1986 to 1996, home for this band was Gerry Andal’s Ranch Restaurants in Everett, Auburn and Olympia as they ventured out to play many of the region’s fairs and rodeos. They are regulars at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe as they do a show to a packed house eight out of twelve days of the fair at 5:00 pm. Prior to that, Gerry owned the Longhorn Bar & Grill in the University district of Seattle, and the Roughriders made that one of the hottest country nightclubs of its time. Some of the many outside shows performed by Gerry Andal and the Roughriders over the years include:

For over 15 years, Gerry Andal produced and starred in his own TV show, and
he has 4 country music albums to his credit. He has two CD's, "The Best
of Gerry Andal" and "Back Through The Years", which feature many
of Gerry's favorite songs as well as his most requested. While most of the tunes
are covers, some of Gerry’s originals are among the most requested. The
Roughriders have opened for and backed some great artists such as Vince Gill,
Johnny Cash, Reba McIntyre, Hank Jr., Ferlin Husky, Clint Black, Merle Haggard,
Ricky Skaggs, and Roy Rogers, just to name a few.
Many people in the Seattle area remember Gerry as the owner of Gerry Andal Lincoln-Mercury in Burien, Washington, where he spent eight years sharing time between the car and music business before deciding to buy the Longhorn Bar & Grill to be able to concentrate more on his love for music. He is also well known for his involvement in the community over the years, being a member of the Everett Rotary Club, serving on the Board of Directors of the Everett Chamber of Commerce and the Executive Board of the Washington Restaurant Association. He is a past president of the Snohomish County Big Brothers and Sisters, headed up the Small Business branch of the United Way Campaign, and served on the advisory board for Equifriends. Gerry has also promoted rodeos, bullriding events and country music concerts. From 1992 to l995, he hosted his own Country Music Jamboree each July.
Gerry has always been interested in sports and earned his way through the University of Washington with a football scholarship and later played on a USAHA national championship hockey team while attending graduate school at the University of Michigan. He has competed in cow cutting and penning, and in recent years, resumed his hockey career after an 18 year break, playing in the Everett NAHL
The musical blend of Gerry Andal & the Roughriders ranges from country to the classic rock & roll tunes that Gerry and the band members grew up with. The band respects the style in which the songs they do were originally presented and they try to blend that style with their own unique flavor. They are constantly adding new songs to their repertoire to assure that they stay on top of the market. They are very animated, and Gerry starts out many of his outdoor concerts on his beautiful Palomino horse, Rocky.
